Hipsters in Law School

Post by Joga Bonito » Tue Feb 02, 2010 7:43 pm

Will there be hipsters when I go to law school?
Of course there wont if I go to the university of alabama or byu, but if I go to law school in a big city say, NYU, UCLA, USC, Northwestern, will I have hipsters in my 1L class? Have you seen any hipsters in the law schools you've visited or currently attend? If so can you be a hispter on the weekend and a lawyer during the week?

If they are hipsters, they aren't in law school.

There's one that I've seen here at NYU. Since the village has the highest number per capita and the highest total number of hipsters in the world I'm going to go ahead and say, no.

Since getting a job in law is now obscure maybe they will go to law school.

What defines a hipster these days? I haven't heard that term seriously thrown around since I was in college.

Oh yeah, and who cares?

There will probably always be some but there aren't too many in law school. Having visited NYU, I'd say that while the undergrad school has many hipsters, the law school didn't seem to have any.

A true hipster (oxymoron, I know, but relatively speaking) would only be caught dead in law school. No, seriously, the only way a hipster would subject him/her or itself (for the metaphysical/all is energy hipster) to law school is if it were a prank after they already died and one of their hipster buddies slid their casket into the law library or something.

A true hipster doesn't accept the system of law as a legitimate entity nor would they study it, even ironically.

Maybe you can start a trend. If you're not one now, become one.

edit: I had to google to see if my definition was correct.

Hipsters in your town hang out at Panera? Do you live in Akron or something?

Maybe you're thinking of mall rats.

Depends on your definition of "hipster" - I think the Dad from "The O.C." went to Boalt, and doesn't he loosely fit the definition?

This is effing hilarious, but true, real hipsters don't eat at Panera.

After giving it some thought, i think I agree, true hipsters would never attend law school, nevermind.

High School mall rats and hipsters can look very similar, they're sometimes hard to distinguish.
