I'm a Tennessee resident and graduated with Poli-Sci degree in '08 from Memphis and this is my first choice but I know with my GPA it may be more than a stretch but I figured I'd see what somebody else thought. As far as softs go, I will have a letter of recommendation from a US Congressman (summer internship in DC), my current boss (not legal related job) and possibly a couple more practicing attorneys. I feel like I am a pretty decent writer so my PS should be better than average.

If I can't get into Memphis which makes the most fiscal sense I really want to do entertainment law and the only schools that offer a program in that and I have a remote chance in getting in are Thomas Jefferson and California Western. Any thoughts on my chances at those schools? Also, just in case its pertinent, my junior year in college I was caught with a fake ID trying to buy beer at a gas station and I was charged with a Class C Misdemeanor which was later expunged. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback. Also, not a URM.

Very slim chance of getting in, I'm afraid. You'll probably need an LSAT around 157-160 for Memphis with your GPA. Even slimmer chance at Case Western, but I think you can get into Thomas Jefferson.

How do you feel about a retake?

I really wanted to take the December test but I got bombarded with work and could never find time to study like I wanted, I guess I could take the February test but I just think it is to close to the deadlines for most schools. I guess I could work one more year, retest and apply next year but I really want to get into law school sooner than later. I'm only 23 so one more year wouldn't kill me I guess. I am also an idiot, I put Case Western on my original post I meant California Western. Thanks again for the feedback.

I got in 2008 with a 2.5 159. Had significant work experience in the legal field. You should probably take the lsat again.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but you need to retake to have a really significant chance.
