Ya that makes sense, I just feel like someone in the office should have been able to step in to this person's role and keep the process moving at least. I found out the hard way in UG that the bureaucracy can have a pretty significant impact on your experience at a school, and I don't consider this a good sign. I probably overreacted a little in my first post though.

Nah, one would think they would have other people who can combine to get the job done, or at least prevent everything from coming to a complete standstill.

Their office is relatively small, particularly for the size of the law school. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Yes, I noticed the same thing when I received my admissions letter. I am glad that I was not the only one who noticed those errors (it makes me feel less of a Type A personality)! I too was disheartened to see the grammatical mistakes in an admissions letter (which is supposedly renowned for their legal writing program). It seemed like a bad omen IMHO.

Do you really want to be so superstitious as to reject a law school based upon an assistant's typo? The admissions office at UW made a mistake on an initial auto-reply type email and was thankful when I politely pointed it out. Just a thought.

This is a good point! It was just something that gave me a bad first impression. I understand that everyone makes mistakes so I am not making a decision based on this mistake per se. I am keeping an open mind still and will see how I like some of the events coming up (e.g. the Open House and Admitted Students Weekend), but going to law school is an expensive proposition (esp in this economy)...so I am weighing my options very, very carefully (and delaying / postponing law school is definitely a very real possibility in my case).

Well, my file has been complete since 2/6, but when I spoke to Admissions, she said they'll have decisions out by the second week of April. So yours would go out by then too.

Apparently the financial aid info is delayed, too.

I am, too. Are you going to the optional info sessions after the luncheon?

Quick question: of those who have been accepted or WL, how many got a card from Whitney Earles or someone else in Admissions right around Christmas?

I'm fairly certain I did. I get quite a bit of mail from SU. Also, I'm not going to any of the visit days due to time constraints. However, I do plan to attend the Spring Visit Day. I called yesterday and it will be on May 18th. We should received information about that shortly.

What time does everything start? I talked to two different people over the phone and one said 11 and the other said 12...

I've decided not to go to the ASD after all, and I'm going to withdraw. I guess I just don't see the point in driving to Seattle when I already know I'd rather be at UO, though it may have been a fun trip! Good luck to the rest of you waiting, and there is some extra money to go around now!!

P.S. Ryan--I think the events start at 12; that's what I have been told over the phone, anyways. I suppose you could always show up at 11 just in case. Have fun at the activities!

Wish I could, lol... you'd have almost a fully scholarship! Sweet deal.... Alas, though, they make the decision.

Crappy open house... Liked the school though lol... I really liked the area: it was nice, but shitty enough to give it character... Hard to explain but I really dug it... After visiting I would totally go there.

I feel the same way after visiting. The professor and students are very kind and soft-spoken. The surrounding area doesn't hold a candle to that of UW but the facilities are nice. The library is a bit small I guess.

Yeah, the First Hill neighborhood is not much to look at, but if you head north up Broadway or northeast up Madison for a few minutes you're in the midst of great bars, restaurants, cafes, stores, etc. Sir Mix-A-Lot even wrote a song about it.
