Shit! BU has started? Here we go...

Congrats, btw!

The two acceptances on LSN so far are clear autoadmits.

Congrats! I wasn't expecting decisions from BU for a few weeks yet.

Would you mind sharing your numbers?

This may be the 75%+ only round.

I just got the call also and I definitely don't think I am top 75%, for sure not an auto- admit. so congrats to everyone who got the call, and good luck to those waiting!

I was probably an autoadmit with 173, 3.65, though BC rejected me.

BC rejected you with those numbers? That is crazy. Did you not have strong soft factors?

Well I've gotten into UChicago, NYU, and Michigan, so I think it was YP.

Yield Protect: The pathetic practice of rejecting candidates whose numbers are high enough above a school's medians that they are considered too risky to accept because they will likely matriculate at a higher ranked school and harm the yield rate and ranking of the school in question.

Do they somehow communicate that you've been yield protected? I would think that some people with high numbers might apply to schools in which they are auto-admits to get scholarship money.

as a really stupid question, BU calls to inform you of their decision? or is it like a mini-interview?

I applied 10/18 and can't recall the date I got the complete notification, sorry. Phone call was about 20 seconds, just telling me that I'd been accepted.

I got the little postcard that my app was complete on Dec. 12, and I leave in Michigan, so I probably went complete somewhere around the 8th?

I don't know when everything was submitted to be honest. End of Novemberish?

I received the call today, too! .... I sent my application in late October, went complete on December 7, but I never received the postcard, nor any other form of communication. I had to call them last week to make sure my application had been received and was complete. They said that decisions started at the end of last week.

Congrats to everyone in, and good luck to everyone still waiting!

This is odd. Seems like they admitted like 50 people and then went silent.
