I thought Columbia would be via e-mail. Grrrrr. Now I need to wait for the mailman everyday and wonder when the cut off is when I'm not getting anything.

If other sites are to be believed, I think the confusion comes from the fact that Columbia sometimes emails decisions, but only in "exceptional" circumstances. Like, if you're living overseas, they'll email you. But I think that most of us are getting snail-mail decisions.

I don't think that the status checker goes past 'Complete' funkyduck. It looks like we are now relegated to waiting on our handy dandy, reliable, but not always as quick as one might hope for mail service, which may or may not bring a mythical 'light green envelope wrapped inside of a white envelope' that could potentially be stuffed in a paper-towel-like cardboard tube. (That's what I would do if I were the adcomms reading these boards...just to really throw us off and make us think that in our application frenzy we may have sent out applications to earn another bachelor's at MIT...all while subtly letting us know that they do in fact read the boards and get a kick out of our ongoing analyses as to when and where we may be accepted, rejected, or deferred next. )

At this point, I just want to hear something from them. Admit, WL, reject, whatever. It's been, to the day, four months since I sent my applications. The waiting game has taken its toll. :\

There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that they will start mailing decisions this early. None.

He's messing with you. Someone saw the folders being mailed out yesterday from Columbia, and a Brooklynite got one today.

Yeah, I was just kidding around, didn't mean to cause any consternation. My desperate desire for a CLS acceptance seems to have affected my judgment...

Only one person updated today on LSN. Seems weird, maybe this was a small first round? Or maybe they are only sending out a few each day, kind of rolling?

Since it's a snail mail acceptance, you're looking at a small geographic region that would actually have received them today and the fact that many people don't check/get their mail until the end of the day. I'd wait a few more hours for today's results. It should fan out tomorrow and Friday.
