I honestly feel in the same boat. The LR was cinch. I flew through the first 3 games and then had a brain fart on the 4th. During the RC I had to pee so bad that I pretty much answered all the easy ones and then just guessed the last 4 and clenched my teeth to get through the earlier harder questions. My guess would be:

LR: -6
LG: -5
RC: -?

I'm thinking the curve might be the standard -10, simply because the distrubution of the games questions (7 on last section). :(

I feel the same way bsat, wouldn't be surprised with a 150 or a 170. I had a panic attack so that may swerve me towards the 150 :P

bsatvat, I feel the same as you, except the fact that I will be VERY surprised if I get 170.

just to send some LSAT support:

It's completely natural to be less sure about the real score, than a practice, partly because the more time you have to think about it, the less sure you become. I took 10 practice tests, scored in a +/- 3 band except for one 180 fluke.

While I waited for my score, I knew I hadn't done my best. I didn't answer three questions in the RC (first section I failed to finish EVER). Usually, I could just about guess every practice score. But on the real thing, I felt that I could have scored at the middle of my band or 15 points less (12 points less than my worst practice) . In the end, I scored one point lower than my worst practice, but still in the reasonable range, certainly not 12 points less...

so...

I know it's impossible, but RELAX. It's highly unlikely you did well above or well below where you've been at. It's probably pretty close to how you've been practicing. Here's hoping everyone gets the score they need to go to a quality law school of their choice :D

Same here... when I get that email I won't be surprised if says 167 or 147!

Its like we all just ran a marathon (for a couple months!), crossed the finish line and now have to stand their panting and doubled over waiting 20 days for someone to tell us how we did!

I am still debating with myself to cancel or not to cancle. What if I got a low score? I don't expect the schools to average my scores.

Cancelling is SO last season. Listen, if you bombed it you have to get three better than your bomb to have Cornell to take the higher score--six better for Columbia. If you are outside of the top twenty, most schools will look at the top score anyway.

Of course, if you think you are going to record the first 119 in LSAT history, then you have my sympathy. You can certainly cancel, but consider that unless you know you tanked (like you didn't get to the last 15 questions on every section or thought that section five was 'optional') then you may just want to see what the score comes in at.

Just a thought...good luck!

wow I feel the same way, I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one. It was a weird test, it didn't make me cringe at all, I was kinda comfortable throughout the whole thing, and now I have no idea if my score is in the 150's or the 160's. It's odd, I've never had that before with my other prep tests, I always had some sort of emotion towards at least one section and could usually tell if I bombed or not... and now we wait three weeks! oh well....

No cancelation here,

I Studied Hard & feel much better after checking things on here...I also got a lot of B, C, & D's on the test, overall...Did terrible on both Games section, but found that the RC was not too bad (only outright guessed on two) & the LR sections were pretty straightforward (only outright guessed on one question total) ...

Look at it this way:

the first time i took it without really studying for it, on a serious hangover & three hours of sleep & I got a 145 ... I really wanted to shoot myself knowing that schools were still averaging scores....I though I was screwed for 3-5 years .... Thank God most are getting away from that now...

I thought i was a good test taker & could just show up...I graduated Phi Beta Kappa & all that jazz, but, as we all know, this test demands something a bit different than anything tested in college...unless you are/were a formal/deductive philosophy/logic guru...

Don't cancel & ride it our...you probably did better than you think...plus, you'll have a good gauge of your skills for the next time if you choose to take it again....

Hell, I wonder how many 160+'s have been canceled due to someone not just not trusting themselves.....

I'm feeling much better after reviewing some of the questions with people here and other places, and I think I got near my current average of 172-3. But just in case, I went ahead and just bought the last 10 individual tests, bought the logic games bible to be really tight on that section, and signed up for the Feb test.

Since the schools I really want to get into, UCLA and USC, both take the feb test, and it will be my third test, and they both take the highest score, there really is no reason for me NOT to take it again. With a 164 from Sept. and a 3.09 average, I really need to over-achieve to have a shot. If my index of undergrad and LSAT are high enough, they will be forced to look at my file and see I had a 3.6 in grad school at U Chicago. In addition, I think I have GREAT soft-factors (minority, college debate awards, ect).

With Loyola, southwestern and peperdine my fall-backs (and basically sure things from talking to their admissions), and Chicago and Duke my dream schools (probably not going to happen but why not try), if I got in the low 170's on this test, I probably get into UCLA or USC I think.

But maybe I get a scholarship to UCLA or USC if I get just a few more points. Investing 2 more months of time and energy, and another 200 bucks on more study materials seem worth it.

The only way I'm fully satisfied is If I did get a 175 in december, (my highest practice test score from 2002), which honestly is unlikely. In that case, I think I maxed out my potential and I'll cancel my reservation for the feb test. Otherwise, I think I can squeeze out another 2 points of average improvement (up the 173 to 175)..

I feel the same way, no idea how I did. I'd been hitting 171 or so in prep tests, but taking the test for real isn't the same feeling at all. Definately gets the heart pumping a bit more, doesn't it?

This was the first (and only) time I plan on taking the LSAT, so I'm a bit on edge as I finish my applications.

I agree. I have NO clue as to what kind of score I'll get. I wouldn't say as wide as a 20 point range, but more in the 10 point range category, which is still crappy. I said before the test if I get at least a 169, I won't take it again. Anything less, I'll have to seriously consider it, which totally sucks. But that's why I took it way before I have to apply to law school. We'll see what happens. Maybe the curve will be -20 = 170. :o

I just went through the the PM's over at LSD.org to see how many I felt confident about from the test. Now, their lists are missing a couple of questions, but damn I'm getting scared. On the RC, I only felt comfortable with 15 of my answers. On the LR, which I thought I aced...I only felt comfortable with 40, and on the LG I'm feeling correct on 17. That only = 72. Now I know I'm bound to pick up some points here or there but damn, no where near enough to bump me into the 163+ region I was looking for...

Paranoia Self Destroya...
