The thread will be moved but I'm going to go ahead and say that whether or not living on campus is a good experience as a 1L is probably going to depend a lot on what school you're going to, as every school's campus and non-campus options will vary.

Goddammit. Why would you even post this in the LSAT forum?

Moved.

I'd like to know too. Is it better to use school housing or live on your own? Also, which tends to be cheaper?

From what I've heard, it really depends on the school.

Does the term on campus mean in a school owned dorm, or graduate housing? Or does it mean living near campus?

Because at my undergrad the term on campus just meant you lived near the edges of campus, even in private apartments. And off campus meant you lived far enough away to require a bike, car or bus ride to get there.

But from context it seems like you mean in school owned dorms.

I personally was referring to school provided housing, like dorms. Private housing is anything where your money goes to a landlord, not the school.
