The poster Charlie Murphy had a great comment:

"Because large and mid-size firms only fire out of their 2L summer classes nowadays. Not having a summer associateship this summer is probably going to make my t14 degree nothing much more then a piece of paper, and leave me with $170K in debt, paying it off for the next 10 years, while bumming off my school's LRAP just to make my payments, to in the end be making less then what a cop with a high school education does. To make matters worse, based on everything I've seen in terms of jobs it looks like I'll be working more hours then the idiot cop."

I am not saying law TOTALLY SUCKS, but I do recognize problems within the profession.

I don't really understand why he gets to call the cop an idiot.

Most people who say this did something stupid and got busted for it. Anyone with the slightest idea of what a cop does respects them, even if he/she doesn't like them.

Because he got an advanced degree that cost him $250K with no exit strategy and the cop has a high-paying job despite only graduating high school. Doesn't that make it obvious the cop is the idiot?

Never even been arrested. What exactly should I respect them for? Writing a ticket for having an expired license plate sticker. They are revenue agents. Most of them drive around all day harassing law abiding citizens.

They have a code of silence against corruption amongst them, which makes me mistrust all of them.

To discuss this issue is pointless.

Like I always said, people fail to realize that just because you go to a T-14 law school, doesn't necessary mean you will receive T-14 salary after graduation.

You will get an opportunity to interview with a firm that offers a T-14 salary, however you will not necessarily be working there within a 6 month period after you graduation. It's called being naive!

What is "T-14 salary"? I didn't realize I'd get paid more based on the prestige of my degree. Wow, this makes me glad I'm going to a T14! Tell me more!

Of course I understand society needs police, but our police do a piss poor job. Their focus is on writing tickets, and drug trafficking. They don't act professionally and view everyone as criminals. America used to have good cops, but now they've become lazy and aggressive.

If you expect me to respond you are going to have to do better than insulting me. EDIT: Or at least insult me, well.

I 100% believe you have done the necessary research/study, as well as acquired the real life experience needed to make such blanket and absolute statements.

Yes every opinion must be backed up with a doctorate level of research. You are exactly right.
