Camaan Fordham, put your app up online already :(

Do you think if I have everything together and ready to submit by November 1st that I'll be in good shape, timeline wise for an early submission/consideration?

I think so. My application was transmitted during the last week of October and I heard back by early December.

Ok cool. Looks like their ED deadline is 10/15 but I won't have back my Sept. LSAT by then.

I was just going to post this - EA deadline is 10/15 but I think we had to have taken the June LSAT. I'm just planning to have everything ready to go as soon as they put that app up, online.

Yeah same. My transcripts should arrive @LSDAS in 14-15 days, so I'm realistically hoping to have everything processed, ready, and good to go by 11/1. I feel like I'm in purgatory right now waiting on this score haha.

LOL - same. You already have your LORs? I just asked my recommenders, this week (didn't want to jinx the test - crazy, I know), but they were both waiting to get started and will be quick. PS isn't ready to go, though - have to work on that like crazy, this coming week. But I'm on the same schedule - my goal is to be complete as of 11/1.

Yeah, got confirmations from all 3 LOR writers last week, just need to put the finishing touches on my PS and send it to them. Been working on it all week...bought the e-book that the guy on here wrote, was very very helpful. All 3 of them are efficient and should hopefully take about a week to write them up (I hope!). Then I need to write my addendum explaining my freshman year disaster GPA, and atonement/success since...not looking forward to that haha.

Nice! Sounds like you're in great shape. I don't know of this e-book... ? I'm not worried about it (I've got a pretty good idea of what I'm going to say) but it'll take time - and THAT is in short supply, around here!

I know OS mentioned that applicants should be sure to send LOR's even though they are optional. I am wondering if the diversity statement is another trick to weed out applicants. To the 1L's, did you write DS's? OS, did Dean Brown mention anything about this (that you are allowed to share  )?

I did. It's a good idea to write one if there is something you think will set you apart from other applicants.

I don't think it's a trick, but I do think you should write a DS. Everyone can. I talked about my disability, but it doesn't have to be something like that. Any experience that sets you apart and is integrally a part of who you are is fair game for a DS. I don't think it will hurt you if you don't, but a well written DS can only be an asset.

I'll get ahold of Silenz and see what's going on. I might have a possible conflict on Sunday. If so, I know I'll be free on Saturday any time except 1-4pm (so morning or early evening; I'll be really nearby at the Met, since my roommate and I are going to the opera.)

Send me a PM and we can coordinate schedules. I'll know soon about Sunday.

I'm still down. 11AM is looking good (as it turns out I'll have to hand in my revised short memo by Sunday at 9AM, so my guess is I'll be up early). Hopefully the filming of the Wall Street sequel won't interfere with this.

You have all been PM'd!

Nygrrrl, soon I'll be giving official tours (hopefully) so you can get one then. If you are free on Friday, stop by the NYC LSAC Forum. I'll be there representing the school. (It's a volunteer thing. I wish I could get Fordham to pay me, lol)

Thanks, mon ami. My hair is all thin now that I cut it, though. :(

How is Duke treating you?

I miss LC and the bright NY lights. Are you getting used to the weird keyboards they have in the library yet?

I'm trying to get to that - waiting to hear on a work gig. (Work is now interfering with my law school plans and it annoys me - THAT's a sign that it's time for a change!) I'll totally wait to take a tour until you're on the official roster - let me know.
:)

Legends! How is Stanford?

Come back and visit your old alma mater. Lincoln Center is as beautiful as ever. I walk past it every day and I still stare at it.

I've just been using my own laptop so far. Fordham is, well, it's everything you must have known it was when you passed through these halls.

It will be a blast, and I hope to meet you soon.

As for the tour, this Saturday morning would be perfect, since I'm still waiting to hear from the movie people. If I don't by tomorrow, though, Sunday is back in play.

<3

I will be at the NYC LSAC Forum tomorrow, sometime between 12 and 5, unless the school tells me otherwise.

The tour is back to its original time on Sunday at 11am, if that still works. Anyone else who is in the area is welcome to come.

No, don't do that. Also Camden is not in NYC, nor does it place there.
