I absolutely do not have any clue deciding which schools to spend my hard earned money applying to

I'm AA male
2.95 from Howard U (relatively strong upward trend)
163 sept lsat
3.71 grad gpa
decent softs
2 yrs work experience
Very difficult personal background (subject of my personal statement)

Can someone, anyone please give me an idea what my reach/target/safety schools are.
I'm desperate for t14 - do I have any chance?
Location is irrelevant to me

All comments absolutely welcome

If you are desperate you should study and retake the LSAT. You have a shot at some T30 and prob Alabama if I had to guess, the T30 shot is pretty slim also. Look for 168 to give you T14 chance and 165-166 for some T20 chances, although nothing is a lock till you hit 168 in my opinion.

There are a lots ifs and depends in your question. Being a Black male with a 163 you automatically go into the maybe pile. You have to cast a wide net, and take a shot at some schools. The rest is going to depend on your personal statement. I recommend you use your circumstances in undergrad as statement on your undergraduate record. Talk to the admissions board about why you want to be a lawyer in your PS. Also be prepared to have your statements professionally edited, you need to send a great product to the board...

just some advice

good advice but you still need a better LSAT in my opinion.

apply to cornell and georgetown, you might be able to sneak into one of the two. otherwise, yeah i'd suggest retaking the lsat.
