Any tips on how high I should start. (NYU or more realistically with Duke, Cornell).

you're likely to be admitted to every school other than stanford and yale (not sure about these 2).

Breaking the T10 isn't easy, but it's definitely worth applying to all the schools that you're interested in, especially beyond HYS. Columbia is big on diversity, so I like your chances there if you put together a well-crafted application. Berkeley is also a great choice considering you're a GPA monster.

Oh, something else I should add, does being an immigrant (came here at age 20) increase odds at T10 or does it really not matter?

I think it depends on the nature of your status as an immigrant (i.e. if you were a poor immigrant from a developing country vs. if you were a wealthy immigrant from a well-developed country).

If your immigration story happens to be unusual and engaging, you should obviously use it as the focus of your personal statement. If it's ordinary and boring, focus on something else (but mention it, nonetheless).

Either way, I would expect it to at least draw attention to your application, which is good.
