I attend a Jesuit TTT undergrad and a double major in English and History. I went to a Jesuit high school in Boston but I didn't perform well partly because of depression and living conditions.

Now, I say living conditions because I lived in a crime-ridden neighborhood. Most of my friends(or who I thought were) were drug dealers, corrupted individuals, and criminals. Needless to say, I was intrigued by the lifestyle so I hung out with them throughout my high school career for the most part and this led to abysmal grades. Finally, at the end of my senior year, when it was too late, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in law and go to college. So, I left Boston and, in a sense, started my life over at a tier 3 Jesuit undergrad in the mid-Atlantic.

Throughout college, with the exception of my first semester freshman year (3.18) I received right around the cusp of a 3.5 gpa. I was, and still am, involved heavily in an assortment of clubs and activities. I work as an RA as well as for a litigation firm part time for 15-20 hours a week. I'm in an honor society, fraternity, and I have my picture advertised for the school if that means anything lol.

My schools LSAT mean is 148 or 149 (about 80 percent of takers don't even hit 150) so I hit above that and there really hasn't been anyone in recent years who has go to a top law school with the exception of one. My LSAT score is right around the average of my last few tests FYI. Any thoughts? How are my chances at the schools I listed as of now? Retake?

I am thinking Duke, cornell are your dreams. Fordham: 50/50? can anyone else input on this? U should talk to operasoprano..i believe she is a mod...and goes to Fordham. She can help you out.
Seton may be a safety/reach...
I don't know too much about the other schools so I am refraining from giving false advice.
Good Luck!!
Of course you are going to write a PS that speaks eloquently about your situation/that can only help.

I would say your chances aren't bad for schools in the 30-50 range. Below that, you'll be facing stiffer competition from AA applicants with better numbers. I would still recommend applying to the 19-30 range because you never know how things could turn out with a compelling PS. If you can retake, I would put in the work this next month to raise your LSAT to the high 150's or low 160's and schools like Fordham and WashU are perfectly within reach.

How interested are you in Illinois? What would be a 'safe' number for illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa etc.

In my opinion, URM's that got into Cornell and Duke with your numbers aren't an accurate indicator as to how your application will be viewed. I think "their story" that they presented through their resume and PS played a very big part in their acceptances. In other words, for you (as opposed to non-URM applicants) your dealing with a subjective process that can't really be nailed down to a numbers game. That being said, your GPA is not far from the 25th percentile of Duke's and is around 40th percentile for Cornell, so if you can get the fee waiver, I say more power to you if you apply.
