Very unlikely you'll get denied at top schools as a Marshall Scholar. Congratulations.

Wow, never heard this before, including on TLS. I thought a 163 would eliminate my chances no matter what.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it. It's a very powerful soft, particularly along with your AI status and whatever softs got you the scholarship in the first place. Of course, you might consider retaking, I don't know.

Thank God! Someone who realizes that softs definitely DO matter. It's just that what 90 percent of the people on here call "softs" are things like being a member of SGA. I concur with Mallard OP. I'm guessing Harvard or Stanford, maybe Columbia at worst. Also be careful about putting that much info about yourself on here; with your profile someone could figure out who you are. Apply to Boalt, they would love you.

As I see it, you're an AI. Whether that means you're an American Indian or some sort of IRobot creation, that'll certainly increase your chances of making a top school.

I heard there's reverse racism against artificial intelligence due to virtual privilege.

Won't his lack of tribal affiliation potentially hurt him a bit when it comes to getting a URM boost? If so, he could get shut out of the T6.

He was born and raised on a reservation in one of the Dakotas or some shit, was valedictorian, SGA President, and a Marshall Scholar - I'm not sure the paperwork will be the weightiest factor here...? The question is will the softs mitigate the 163 and I think they clearly will, I'm not sure how much but schools love Rhodes and Marshall Scholars.

The duck's right. Look it up, adcomms love MS and RS (along with Trumans). Actually that's the kind of soft that gets even the soft picky schools an erection (Yale, Stanford, Boalt). I don't think he will get Yale, but I think he will get Stanford and certainly Boalt. Plus the guy is about as close to a Native American as many of these schools are going to get.

I'd be awfully surprised if you don't get into SLS.

Thank you for your encouragement! I am now a bit distraught.

I scored a 160 on the Dec. test (163 was my average over PTs). Does a 160 lock me out of Stanford, Harvard? Does your optimism that I will get in with a 163 still stand with a 160?

Thanks everyone.

I don't know about optimism, but I'd still say it's possible. I think SLS usually admits someone with a 160 (I think that's the LSAT range on the website) and you seem like as a good a candidate as any to get in with a 160. Especially if you're willing to sit on the waitlist.
